This is my first trip in over three years and I am very excited. Its been a long time since I took a vacation. I have been planning this trip for months and now the time has finally arrived to depart. I am going to South America and this will be my first visit. The weather is suppose to be nice and warm and I have packed accordingly.

My planning also extended to the plane ride which is set to be seven hours in duration. I carefully selected my clothes in preparation for this flight. My outfit on the plane is going to be loose sweat pants and a large t-shirt. For sleeping, I plan on changing into my Nautica sleepwear. I selected to fly business class which should make the trip that much more comfortable.

In business class, the airline provides a number of addition amenities. For example, they give a small pouch that contains a night time eye patch, comfortable socks, and also toiletries. The toiletries include, among other things, a tooth brush, paste, comb, floss, and an eau de parfum spray. There are some body wash soaps and the like, as well.

Other benefits of flying business class include the wonderful variety of menu options and even off menu choices. As a vegetarian, they provide a separate choice of entrees and even deserts for the lactose intolerant. The airline attendants are very attentive and accommodating. The choice of on board entertainment is also vast. I was able to enjoy all those second tier movies that I was waiting to catch on DVD.

I also brought with me a change of clothes for when we are about to land. I put these items in my carry on. I have a pair of jeans, belt, tank top, and leather brown boots. I am hoping to wake up in time prior to landing so that I have time to change. The rest of the items in my carry on are personal items and valuables. I, of course, have some currency and my passport. This is vital.

I also brought with me a digital camera. I plan on taking many pictures and with the new web based applications, I can download the pictures to a website. This will allow me to take as many pictures as I want without needing extra storage cards. Another useful item is the AC convertor. The electrical cords that are used in North America don’t always fit the outlets in the South. Therefore, convertors are necessary.

Finally, the announcement was made. The attendants have been told to prepare for landing. I put my seat in an upright position and stored my belongings in my bag. This includes the items I was using during the flight, such as a book, mp3 player, and a travel guide. I then got in queue to change into my landing gear. I am now anxious to land. The anticipation of the excitement has made it worthwhile.

As more and more travelers are tuning into the idea of a truly interactive vacation, adventure travel has been born. This is time away from work an individual spends testing his limits and abilities in the physical arena. People no matter how old enjoy adventure travel because they can fine tune the trips based on what they need and what fitness level they belong to. Those toying with the idea of adventure trips can use the pointers mentioned here to decide whether they should go or find something else. Read this site if you want antarctica tours information.

An adventure travel is no time to laze about. You are able to integrate with your immediate surroundings directly as a result of doing activities that are big on thrills and fun. Spots for this kind of vacation are open to deeper study and exploration. Usually natural habitats, these vacations often include climbing, skiing, kayaking or scuba diving. Some serve as channels for helping the less fortunate set get back on their feet. You can find adventure travel right in your own backyard or head to faraway places for the adventure of a lifetime.

People of any age and fitness level can take part in adventure travel. Vacations like this one are customizable so people can just alter them until they find the right fit for their abilities. Antarctica travelers for example could be in for hikes or on shore camping or even deep sea ice diving. However travelers who prefer a safer way to enjoy Antarctica can just look at the amazing views on the ship deck. Wild animals and amazing landscapes are out there which you can safely enjoy in the comforts of the ship.

Adventure travel always has something worth finding out about. You are in for an educational experience all around whether you attend related lectures on board or take part in new surroundings. Adventure travel will at times force you to leave something comfortable in favor of something totally new. When you put concerns behind and dive into your adventure travel, you may learn and experience things you never thought possible before. The experience can be so invigorating that you immediately ask for repeats. You will gain a deeper understanding about travel to antarctica by checking out that resource.

Adventure travel isn’t just about doing, however. The trip is about coming across new locations and people. A person who likes to venture into the unknown to learn new things is a prime candidate for adventure travel. It is the type of trip that is fit for people intrigued by life in the desert or curious about climbing mountain peaks and want to try them for themselves. These are not usually people who go for the familiar and comfortable as a rule. These are explorers by heart and hands-on learners by nature who want to grab the world by the horns and see what it does.

Adventure travel now does not mean it will be a painful or highly uncomfortable experience. After being gone the whole day hiking you are free to return and conveniently relax. Cruise vacations are known for providing this convenience to travelers. Get a load of the unique sights where your ship is docked as well as experience the colorful culture of the area. At night you have fine dining to look forward to plus other sources of amusement. Such vacations successfully combine adventure and relaxation.

Nerja is one of the resort towns along Spain’s Costa del Sol or Sun Coast, aptly named for its clement weather and beautiful beaches. Because of this, it is a good idea to stay in a Nerja apartment and spend your holidays in Nerja while trying out the exciting activities it has to offer, like those listed below.

Explore the Caves of Nerja

With its remarkable stalactite and stalagmite formations and prehistoric wall paintings in halls with names like Hall of the Waterfall, Hall of Phantoms and Hall of the Lance, as well as the largest calcite column in the world, the caves of Nerja are truly worth exploring during your holidays in Nerja. You can also see the skeletal remains excavated from the cave in the museum just outside the caves or attend a concert or ballet performance in one of its large chambers.

Watersports at Burriana Beach

It goes without saying that one of the things to do in Nerja is to relax or have a splash at its idyllic beaches. In fact, many tourists rent apartments in Nerja just for this purpose. The most popular beach is Burriana Beach, which is also the largest in town, as well as the most commercialized. This means that you can easily find sun beds, palm umbrellas, shower facilities and restaurants on this beach or take advantage of its watersports centre and go surfing, jetskiing or scuba diving.

Enjoy a Stroll through the Balcony of Europe

The Balcon de Europa or Balcony of Europe is a wide palm tree-lined promenade built on the site of a 9th century fortress. If you want to enjoy the most stunning views of the city or the ocean, or catch glimpses of the surrounding mountain ranges and even the coast of Africa on a clear day, there is no better place to go to than here. You can also stop by the El Salvador church, dine at one of the fine restaurants on the Balcon or hire a horse-drawn carriage from here to see the rest of the town.

Volunteer at the Nerja Donkey Sanctuary

The Nerja Donkey Sanctuary is dedicated to caring for rescue and retired donkeys, although you will also find horses, mules, goats, pigs, dogs and other animals in the sanctuary when you visit. This is one of the most rewarding things to do in Nerja since you can get a chance to help out by feeding, grooming and walking the animals, particularly the donkeys and dogs, aside from simply petting them. If you want to help out further, you can even adopt a donkey for a year. Don’t worry, you won’t have to bring the donkey home. You just have to make a donation.

Nerja Nightlife

The nightlife in Nerja may not be as dynamic as that of other Spanish towns, but it is still something to enjoy during your holidays in Nerja. If you’re staying at a Nerja apartment near the Balcon de Europa, you shouldn’t have a hard time finding a good bar or pub where you can drink, dance or simply interact with the locals, although you will eventually have to head out to Tutti Frutti Plaza or Antonio Millon. If you’re staying in Playa Capistrano, though, you will need to go to Burriano Beach or make your way to the town centre, where you’ll have a better chance of catching a flamenco show.

Learn Spanish in Nerja

Like many towns and cities in Spain, Nerja has several language centres where you can learn Spanish. This is an opportunity you should seize during your holidays in Nerja since this will help you understand and get along with the locals better. Some language centres even offer excursions at the end of the course, which gives you a chance to practice your Spanish as you tour the town and the best attractions around.

There are certainly many activities you can do during your holidays in Nerja which will help you truly enjoy your vacation. To have more chances of trying them out or make your own discoveries to add to the list, stay at a Nerja apartment during your stay. There are many great ones available, all of which can help you make the most of your trip.

England vacations appear to be incredibly popular at the moment, most probably due to the economic downturn and the low value of the pound. The United Kingdom has a large number of top class vacation destinations including London (the capital city of England) and other interesting cities plus a collection of seaside resorts such as; Blackpool, Weston-super-Mare, Bognor Regis and Torquay. One vacation resort often overlooked is Plymouth in the south of England.

When you first arrive Plymouth appears rather bland and modern, but searching a little bit deeper and you will soon find that the city of Plymouth has a rich history and a deep association with the sea. As far back as the fifteen hundreds there has been a port in Plymouth. In 1588 Francis Drake embarked from the town’s port to successfully defend England from the Spanish Armada. Another historic moment occurred in sixteen twenty when the Pilgrim Fathers set sail for North America.

It is possible to take low cost vacations in Plymouth by booking bed and breakfast in Plymouth rather than booking a overpriced hotel. A quick look online will show that you can make a reservation from £29 a night and many places have dinners at a very reasonable cost, commonly equal to, or less expensive than local restaurants.

Things To See And Do In Plymouth

There are many interesting places in Plymouth that are well worth visiting. Popular visitor attractions include; Merchant’s House Museum, St Andrew’s church, the National Marine Aquarium and the Mayflower Steps. A boat cruise around the waters of the port is an excellent way to spend some time but if you discover that you have more time to spare why not take a trip to places close by Plymouth, such as; Mount Edgcumbe, Buckland Abbey or Saltram House.

Saltram House is a pretty Tudor Mansion which is found 2 miles from the town of Plymouth, Mount Edgcumbe is a further Tudor house with landscaped gardens, parklands and coastal paths, and Buckland Abbey, roughly 6 miles in distance from Plymouth, is a Cistercian abbey which was once owned by Francis Drake and was later converted into a family home.

If you and your family are currently deciding upon spending a few days in the city of Plymouth it is crucial that you book your lodgings at your first opportunity as, unfortunately hotels and guest houses in Plymouth tend to be alarmingly busy and are frequently fully booked months in advance. If you are travelling in a group you might find that apartments in Plymouth prove to be cheaper option to Plymouth bed & breakfast. If you are visiting Great Britain from abroad then why not consider making a reservation for a room in London hotels to take in the sights of the nations capital also.

Boston is considered the top cultural and economic centre of the entire region. It is a large metropolitan location and a center of higher education in the U.S. Due to its rich heritage, it’s become one of the top tourist destinations for both business and leisure travelers. There are many Boston hotel rooms in the city ranging from luxury to cheap. For special deals check out Boston hotel packages for the best savings and values.

The city’s home to historic monuments like Freedom trial. If you want to enjoy combined land and sea tour in and around Boston can also do that. Tourists can move around exciting sites and landmarks with the help of small buses, which is popularly called trolley tours and the greatest advantages of using this means is that the ticket once purchased does not depend upon the destination, but instead is valid for the whole day. A few of the most well-know attractions here include:

Boston public garden is the first established botanical garden in the United tates. The garden is located in Charles Street which is parallel to Boston common. If you schedule your Boston travel for the summer then you would be able to take one of the swan boats for a tour on the lake or if you plan your travel for a winter trip then you will be able to ice skate across.

Faneuil Market Place is filled with shops and restaurants that descend from different cultures and it is stuffed with different types of goods ranging from handmade souvenirs to the most sophisticated ones.

Filene’s basement is a very nice place to go if you are one of those who love to find bargains. This marketplace is located in the basement of the Filene’s store. In the past, the market was a perfect place to sell excess and surplus goods and then it developed into a standalone market.

If you decide to visit the Cape while in the Boston area you can find some Cape Cod motels easily by searching online. If not, there are many Boston hotel rooms that are well equipped with all the modern facilities but the rates can be pricey. There are also some hotels that are easily affordable by visitors, who want to visit and enjoy this city at reasonable and affordable price. These cheap Boston hotels provide clean and comfortable lodging to travelers on budget by offering them discounts and bonuses.

Perth, the ‘Fair City’ in Scotland a former royal burgh can be discovered at the head of the Tay estuary. During the twelfth and fifteenth centuries Perth competed with Dunfermline for the title of being the capital of the country. In the article below I write about 3 places to visit in Perth, Scotland; Elcho Castle, Huntingtower Castle and Scone Palace:

Scone Palace

At this time, home of the Earls of Mansfield is Scone Palace, and a incredibly popular attraction to travelers from across the world. The palace is an integral part of the history of Scotland, as the Scottish kings were once crowned there. In 1306, Robert the Bruce was crowned at Scone Palace, as was Charles II when he took occupancy of the Scottish Crown in 1651. There is a beautiful and mysterious aura to the palace, which is justifiably so.At one time in the past the area acted as an important gathering place of the Picts and there was also a church on the site said to be early christian.

Elcho Castle

situated approximately three miles from the city of Perth, with stunning views across the River Tay, is Elcho Castle. Elcho Castle is one of the prime examples of Sixteenth century architecture in Scotland today. The Wemyss family commissioned the building of the castle in the 1570’s. The land had been in the family since 1468, when it was handed over to them by King James III. In 1633, the head of the family was given the titles of Lord Elcho and Earl of Wemyss. Elcho Castle and it’s lands remained in possession of the Wemyss family until 1929. At this time, the 11th Earl of Wemyss, bestowed the castle to the nation. The castle has recently been renovated and is now in the charge of Historic Scotland.

Huntingtower Castle

Found just to the west of Perth is Huntingtower Castle, a medieval pile. Although the castle is originaly medieval, it has been redeveloped significantly throughout most of it’s history. The Ruthven family were the owners of the castle and lands from the C12th to the C17th. During this time the castle consisted of two separate towers, built 3 meters apart. When the Murray family took occupancy, later on in the 17th century, they decided to merge the two towers, making the house appear more like a ordinary country manor house. The bridging work between the two towers is still rather noticeable today, on both the interior and exterior of the building.

If you are thinking about a short break in Perth you will discover a large selection of online Perth hotels and guest houses and you will find a huge range at http://www.perthhotelscotland.com/

Now that Inverness is no longer a town (it’s a city) Fort William is the largest town in the Highlands of Scotland. Fort William is an incredibly popular tourist center with many folk appearing to climb or view Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in Great Britain. In the article below I talk about a few different attractions well worth visiting if you are staying in Fort William.

The Highly Educational West Highland Museum

Founded in 1922 was the West Highland Museum in Fort William. A group of people from Lochaber wanted to create a museum, about life in the Highlands, for the people of the Highlands. The present building was purchased in 1926 from the British Linen Bank, and is located in Cameron Square, just off the Hight Street. Small but fascinating is how some people describe the museum. The exhibits in the museum present a delightful look into the way of life in the West Highlands over the years. Folk from all walks of life are represented, through the magnificent collections of artefact’s, picture’s and photograph’s

The Superb Old Inverlochy Castle

There are two Inverlochy Castle’s in Fort William, the Old Inverlochy Castle and the newer Victorian, chateau-style Inverlochy Castle, erected in nearby Torlundy (which is now a luxury hotel). The Old castle was rumoured to of been constructed between 1270-1280, by John “the Black” Comyn, Lord of Badenoch and Lochaber, and chief of the Clan Comyn. Even though the castle is ruined, the layout has not altered much since it was first erected. Lord Abinger made alterations and enhancements to the house, in preparation of a visit by Queen Victoria. Old Inverlochy Castle remains an important part of English and Scottish history, because of the role it played during the Civil Wars of the 1640’s.

The Exquisite Jacobite Steam Train

An excursion on the Jacobite Steam Train, is an awe inspiring way to experience the enchanting scenery of the Highlands. The Fort William to the port of Mallaig journey takes you on a breathtaking ride through the glens. One of the most exciting parts of the trip is traveling over the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which the majority of travelers will recognize thanks to the fact that it has appeared in the films about Harry Potter. The 84 mile journey takes you past Ben Nevis, Loch Morar and Loch Nevis, with a break in Glenfinnan before arriving in Mallaig. There is about an hour and half in which to explore Mallaig, before the return journey, back to Fort William. This journey has frequently been declared, one of the Great Railway Journeys of the planet.

There is plenty of accommodation in Fort William available to book online but you will find a comprehensive list of hotels in Fort William at http://www.fortwilliamhotelscotland.com/

Blackpool is a seaside resort situated on the North West coast of England, which remains immensely popular with tourists from the close by towns and cities which include Warrington, Liverpool, Warrington and more. The town is also surprisingly popular with the Scottish who turn up in large groups rather like the hordes of factory workers of the past on their company vacation. Sometimes it seems that the seaside town is nothing but hotel accommodation and tourist attractions and although there is an incredibly amount of Blackpool bed & breakfasts it is advisable to book in advance to avoid disappointment. Guest houses varies from the cheap and chearful to five star class. Many are situated on the sea front alternatively, if you would rather stay somewhere more relaxing there are a few in the suburbs.

Blackpool began to see its first visitors in the 18th century who had visited to indulge in the new practice of sea bathing. With the arrival of the railways, from 1846, Blackpool saw increasing numbers of visitors to”take the cure”. Nowadays you can travel to Blackpool by road, rail or aeroplane arriving there much faster than the early Victorian visitors who would take up to 2 days from Manchester.

The Famous Blackpool Pleasure Beach

The most popular attraction in the town, in Lancashire in the north west of England, which brings in roughly seven million visitors every twelve months, is Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Blackpool’s Pleasure Beach is a static funfair with fear inducing big rides, for example Valhalla, Grand National, Ice Blast, the Pepsi Max Big One, Zipper Dipper and Wild Mouse, and including many more sideshows, food booths, children’s rides, thrill rides, sidestalls and games. The most recently added big ride is Infusion, the first ride in the world to be a suspended looping coaster entirely over water.

A useful tip: If you are traveling as a group or family it is possible to save a substantial amount of cash by purchasing a wristband for unlimited rides especially if you will be going on as many rides as you can handle as the individual cost of each ride soon amounts to serious cash.

Getting There And Accommodation

Blackpool is, as said earlier, very easy to get to nowadays as you are able to travel there by air, automobile or railway. If arriving by train you will, most probably, be arriving at Blackpool’s main rail station, which is Blackpool North found on Talbot Road. Just a short distance down the road is situated Blackpool’s main coach station, the Blackpool National Express Coach Station. The other railway station, Blackpool South, is at Waterloo Road, South Promenade. Blackpool’s airport is found approximately two miles south of the centre of town and was known as, Blackpool Squires Gate Airport, one of the oldest British airports.

Blackpool bed & breakfast accommodation is priced fairly low. Accommodation is far less expensive in the off season and a little more expensive at weekends. Blackpool hotels are at their most costly during the Blackpool Illuminations, which is really Blackpool’s peak season.

A useful tip: Some hotels can be busy and noisy especially those close to North and Central Pier. If you require at a place which is not so busy try booking somewhere past the North Pier.
