Where would be a better destination to go on a short weekend break, Amsterdam or Venice?

I'm going to be going with a close friend, but we are not a couple. What we are looking for is somewhere that is going to be fun, memorable and maybe some where with some romance thrown in for good measure! we are in in our early twenties so museums and arty stuff is not really our thing, which is what I think Venice will be like??

I'm also open to other destinations, but bare in mind we only have a weekend.
