What I wouldn't give to hang on the horns of your dilemna!
I really don't agree with the comments on Paris - I will never forget seeing how big the Mona Lisa really is, and since the Da Vinci Code, the Louvre seems even more magical.
For dining, I really recommend you should go to The Place du Marche Saint-Honore,more restaurants to choose from in any one street in Paris.
I could spend all your 7 French days in Paris, but I'm just a romantic soul.........

Rather restrictive, isn't it? 35 for food? You wouldn't be able to really sample anything!

250/week for expenses? That won't even get you a cheap lodging! You will have to stay in Youth Hostels!

And only 7 days per location? okay, I guess, if you are limiting me to seven days in a city, that's okay, but if you are limiting me to seven days in a country, that is NOT enough!

I would take a month in France, a month in Spain, two in Italy, and one in Greece. Wait. If I hadn't just spent a month in Spain, it would have to be two there.

No more than 7 days per city, right?

7 - Paris, and the rest of the month travelling around the rest of the country, with about 7 days in Avignon, and no more than four in any other city.

7 for Madrid, 7 for Barcelona, and 7 in Sevilla (I have contact there to look up, and things I do, that most other people wouldn't care about, so I take more time there) with the remainder of two months being spent, again, a few days here, a few days there, and about a week walking on the pilgrimage.

7 for Rome, with the balance of two months being spent all over the rest of the country...stops in Naples, Sicily, Pisa, Florence, Venice, Milan, and plenty of small towns.

Greece, I would spend some time on digs, probably 7 days in Athens, and some on Santorini (wait, I would NEVER be able to find lodging at those rates there!) and then a couple of weeks in various places. I haven't really researched Greece to know EXACTLY where I want to see, but a little island, a little history.

But that's just me. I have already done the big, cheap, backpacking tour, and there are a LOT of places you should see on this...some Germany, some of the smaller countries, and Austria. DEFINITELY spend some time in Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe. I REALLY think Moscow would be cool! And Prague, and Budapest! Romania! Don't miss Dracula's castle!

Okay, and that's just using Europe as an example.

You could tour all of Asia, or the Middle East, or South America, or Africa. For me, North America has no interest for something like that. Not exotic enough, cause it's home. But If someone is paying! Wow! You have some deciding to do!
