I took my T-Mobile Samsung phone to the UK but it couldn't get on the network there. I had called T-Mobile prior to the trip and they said they had activated international service on my plan and that it would work with out any problems.

Has anyone had any success with taking a US phone to the UK ?
If so can you tell me the carrier and phone you used ... as well as anything special you did to get it working ? Thx.

I have a Motorola Razr from Cingular/ATT which I have used in the UK.
You have to have a world phone or tri-band phone for it to work in the UK. The UK wireless networks use different frequencies than the networks in the US so for a phone to work in the UK it must support those frequencies.
Check to see if the phone you have supports the UK frequencies.
