Walks for children in West Scotland?

louja75 asked:

I have two sons aged 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 and want to take them on good walks this weekend that are interesting for them. Any suggestions would be gratefully received!

    Depends what you want

    Seaside : Irvine Beach Park
Troon (South Beach and/or North Beach)

Forest : Straiton Forest Walks (they are marked)

    Hills : Carrick Hills
    Loch Doon

Towns : Ayr Town Centre Heritage Walk (you do not pass a single shop)

you will be able to get local walks from the tourist info centre where you stay or online. forestry commision walks would be best as they always have easier options for young children with lots of wildlife and interesting scenery.
