jen the fashion desiginer asked:

hi there, my boyfrind is taking me to his parents cottage up in scotland for a valentines weekend trip, the cottage is in the highlands of scotland not sure where, all i know is he said the weather gets really really cold, especially as it is a cottage, with heating that doesnt work too well, i dont have a clue what clothes to take and what to wear, iam also one who hates cold weather, i want to look cute for him but warm at the same time, so i would imagine many layers, but i dont really know

Thermals - you can get some pretty and attractive underwear that's thermal. Get some if you have the time. If not, go for the layered look - layer upon layer (that will help trap warm air in between the layers). Then scarf, gloves, hat etc. Enjoy - and remember, if it's too cold, you'll just have to snuggle up together.

If I were in your situation, I would bring some cute long sleeve shirts (semi tight) and a couple of big coats. That way, if you need to wear layers, you can put on a tight t-shirt with a big jacket (and tight pants w/ some boots would look pretty cute as well). I don't know how much you're into ear muffs, but a hoodie is always a good back up plan. Hope you work something out, and have a great trip! :)

Well, maybe some nice jeans, and knee high fashion-boots. When it comes to underwear, wear a nice **** sleep-dress.

It's all about the wool.. sweaters, pants, skirts, scarves.. earthtones, nice high leather boots, plus some more rugged boots, and jeans, as you will be in the country.
