Do i need a UK visa if I already have a Schengen visa?

I will travel to India via UK. I have a valid US Student visa and also I will have a Schengen visa to travel to Greece. My flights from US to India are 10hrs apart. I want to enter London and have a day trip. What type of visa do I need, if I need at all?

    No you can not ! The UK is in the European Union but doesn't belong to the Schengen agreement, so you do need to get a British transit visa.
