Europe Travel Planning: Fly to Europe at Low Charges

February 28th, 2010 — 01:39 pm
A holiday trip to Europe is fun and full of zest.

Planning is the initial part of holiday. It is always essential and rewarding collating information concerning holiday destinations and accessories that you would carry in the trip. Books are reliable source of information. Europe Travel Planning guide books available in stores enrich you with details and helps in navigating places. You can decide on where to spend the holidays and in which season. Countries of Europe are well known for festivals, so try to arrange your trip in such dates. Routes to reach places, find places to stay and eat, tourist spots, shopping centres etc. are specified in a well guide book in a better way. For sighting seeing a map proves to be the best guide. Whether you want to explore sites by riding bicycle, walking, boating or ride train across Europe, you can get the provisions as mentioned in travel guide books. Knowing the lifestyle and culture of the region helps you to understand the taste and tradition in a better way. Learning the dialects of locality helps you to gather more knowledge about the region.

To enjoy the tour is the foremost concern. So, it is advised to carry least personal belongings such as compact digital cameras, maps, i-pods, cell phone etc. The sophisticated camera helps you to take clear and far distanced snaps, and so never leave it behind because it makes luggage bulky.

To enjoy and make your holidays memorable try to avoid conflicts.

It is always exciting and adventurous to add day trips to your vacation then taking packing up your stuff and stay overnight. One should not ignore the expenses as well. You should consider the money matter while booking tickets and purchasing accessories. If you save more money, you can purchase more commodities.

In contrary to books, online gives you a better coverage of information and also is economical. So, you can make your Europe trip memorable and convenient by Europe Travel Planning in a rational manner.

What To Pack For A Backpacking Trip To Europe

February 25th, 2010 — 07:19 pm
Having taken a couple of dozen short backpacking trips into Europe I’ve managed to realise exactly what I personally need and what I don’t. Although what people pack is a subjective matter, there are items everyone requires in their backpack.

Passport

Don’t go forgetting this, else you won’t get very far! A leather passport cover is a great idea; it will protect it from damage.

Debit Card

A debit card is the most convenient way to withdraw cash when backpacking. Make sure you know the charges for withdrawing, though; it may be a good idea to shop around and find the card that offers the lowest foreign withdrawal charges. A credit card is also a good idea for emergencies only – I keep one separate from my main wallet.

Backpack

Size is important! You want a backpack just bigger than the amount of stuff you intend to bring. For this reason, make your backpack the last thing you buy. The smaller the better; if you’re carrying round a huge bergen, you’ll find it harder to stash it in trains, buses and lockers. The less stuff you bring, the more manageable your trip will be.

Clothes

For protection against the elements, some backpackers just bring an umbrella; I like to have a breathable waterproof jacket instead. It depends on what season you are going. I usually have at least one long-sleeved garment, either a fleece, again dependent on the season. In terms of everyday clothes, I bring enough for five days. I find any more is overkill; any less and you’ll be doing laundry quite often (or wearing dirty clothes)!

Footwear

A pair of sneakers is great everyday travel footwear for Europe. If you’re heading into the Alps, or doing a lot of walking, consider bringing your hiking boots as well.

First Aid Kit

Although pharmacies are everywhere, a small first aid kit of aspirin, band-aids, anti-septic and any prescription medicines is essential.

Washbag

Try to get the travel-size versions of your favourite shampoo/shower gel; there’s no need to cart about huge half-litre bottles. Bring a toothbrush, also a comb or brush, and any other little luxuries. And contraception for those wild nights.

Electronics

I bring a small point-and-shoot digital camera. I can’t afford an SLR, nor would I want to bring one, given my record for breaking things! You might also consider an iPod or other mp3 player for those long bus/train journeys.

Electrical Adapter

You might need a converter to use the appliances you bring with you in European sockets.

Other Good Ideas

Backpackers in dorms snore, so bring some earplugs! Also a sink plug is a good idea if you’re handwashing in basins. Bring a sturdy padlock too for your locker/bag, as well as a small flashlight for coming into dorms late at night. A considerate backpacker is a backpacker people will want to get to know!

Cruise South America With Costa Cruises

February 21st, 2010 — 10:44 pm
An adventurous cruise through South America will take in a huge array of wildlife, you could see many natural wonders and some spectacular scenery, and even lost cities along the way. Rich with beauty and atmosphere, a South American cruise truly is a unique experience.

For travellers who are in search of breath taking mountain views, vast tropical rainforests and natural, rugged beauty a South American cruise really is it. The west coast of Chile with deep fjords and icy glaciers is something to behold. In contrast you could experience the tropical atmosphere of a mangrove river in Costa Rica or explore a tranquil fishing village in Mexico. This huge continent covers many thousands of miles and has equatorial tropics and sub Antarctic regions. There are fourteen countries and territories that make up the continent and that means some wonderfully diverse cultures as well as many interesting animals to be seen, from Whales to Penguins and Sea Lions as well as many tropical birds.

This is adventure cruising, and as well as the main cruise itself, you will probably want to take excursions away from your ship in order to truly experience this region. Boat up the Amazon to see the jungle surround you and a wonderful array of wildlife and birds that just can’t be seen anywhere else. Take an excursion to see OIinda, a wonderful Portuguese hilltop town which is now a UNESCO world heritage site. Or sightsee in the exotic and cosmopolitan Rio de Janeiro. You might even take in Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands on your route and experience a little slice of Britain out in the South Atlantic.

Travel round the Cape Horn at the southernmost tip of the southernmost continent, and visit Patagonia, a vast landscape of deserts and mountains that stretch between Chile and Argentina which in it’s gentlest parts looks something like the wildest areas of Scotland, here you can go penguin spotting and visit the national glacier parks, and possibly even see a killer whale. There are so many places to visit in this area that no cruise can take them all in, but whichever route you choose you are bound to experience some wonderful sights, and if visiting Antarctica appeals to you, it is possible to take a day cruise out there from some main cruises, but these can be expensive at around £1,500 per person for this day event. It is however a once in a lifetime experience.

In between visits to exotic places, there is of course the wonder of the South Atlantic ocean to see. From your ship at night you will be able to view the stars over the water in this vast unspoilt area, and there are many aquatic creatures to look out for along the way in the daytime such as the South American sea lion which can be found on the Peruvian, Uruguayan, Argentine and Chilean coasts. So, with fine dining aboard ship and adventurous trips inland to be taken, as well as incredible wildlife and astounding landscapes and seascapes to be seen, most people enjoy cruising this area which is like no other anywhere on the globe.

Memorable Lanzarote Attractions

February 21st, 2010 — 07:29 am

Lanzarote is one of the main tourist islands in the Canary Islands.  It offers year round heat due to it being close to the west coast of Africa.Blowing from the Sahara desert, the locals call the Saharan Winds.  All this couples with the exceptional beaches and warm seas makes it obvious why Lanzarote holidays are so popular.Lanzarote is a popular holiday destination which people return to year after. Here there are some highlights based on my experience of Lanzarote.

Cueva de los Verdes
As a volcanic island, Lanzarote was created over 3000 years ago through a volcanic eruption. You will see the colour of the walls are an amazing green colour, which is why its been named Cueva de los Verdes which can be translated to Green Caves. While investigating the caves you will be amazed at the waters calmness.  It is only on breaking the water that you can see this deception.

Jameos del Agua
Located quite near to Cueva de los Verdes is a nice surprise.  {Jameos del Agua is a volcanic forms cave~Jameos del Agua {is a volcanic formed cave}~is a beautiful cave formed because of the eruption}.Jameo describes a cave with a broken roof.  This complex looks completely tropical, with its white sand, turquoise pools and palm trees it is a must to visit and relax here.

The Timanfaya Park

Timanfaya National Park amounts to 51sq kilometres of volcanic soil~The Timanfaya Park {is popular for its volcanicsoil and lunar landscape}~{is famous for its amazing lunar landscape and volcanic soil}~is famous for the amazing views of lunar landscape and volcanic rock}.The views are amazing and are absolutely breathtaking, you will keep this memory with you forever.Visiting the park is an amazing experience. On boarding these busses you entrust the driver with your life, the roads are only just wide enough for the bus.  They weave you around craters up hills and take you to some of the best views that the park has to offer.
You will be lucky enough to have a meal cooked by volcanic heat
One of the most “have to be there to believe it” moments in Lanzarote happens at one of final stopping points on the coach tours, a stop off at the Restaurant el Diablo. The guides who show you the volcano like to show you how you can see the volcano is still active. To do this, you could try it in three ways.  There is a natural cavity in the floor that goes down a fair way; the first experiment you see is the guide placing some straw into the cavity.  After what feels like a few seconds the straw turns to flames, all this with the natural heat that is there just a few feet below us.  At the next experiment you see a tube in the ground again it only goes down a few feet. They will dramatically pour some cold water and wait until only 3 seconds late steam and water shoots out, often making all the tourists jump.

The large hole in the floor outside the restaurant is hot enough to naturally cook food for the restaurant. When you look down you can feel the heat.As the floor here is really hot you need to move fast, you will be able to feel the soles of your shoes melting.  Then you finally sit down for your set menu while watching the sun set over the view of the lava fields.Lanzarote promises to give you a memorable holiday suitable for families, couples and friends.

Beach Vacation Spots that are Popular in Israel

February 21st, 2010 — 07:29 am

It’s true.  When you think about Israel, thoughts of religious and historical sites come to mind.  You think of Old Jerusalem, the stories of infamous saints, and the rich culture of the people of this land.  So, as you plan your vacation to Israel, you are planning on relaxing and becoming immersed in the sights and sounds of this beautiful country. It surprises many people, however, to learn that Israel has some of the most beautiful beach areas in the world. The Mediterranean, the Sea of Galilee, the Dead Sea and the Red Sea are the four beautiful seas surrounding Israel, all promising swimming experiences that are absolutely amazing.

Of course, one of the most famous beach areas in Israel is the Ein Gedi Beach, on the outskirts of the Dead Sea.You find this experience unlike any other in your lifetime. It is nearly impossible to stay under the water for long because of the extreme salt content here, the lowest body of water on the earth.  Imagine a cork that pops up to the top and floats – that is how your body feels while basking in the Dead Sea.

The mineral-rich water has quite a reputation for bringing beauty and therapy to those who dip there, all the way back to Cleopatra. In order to enjoy the medicinal and cosmetic benefits of the water, she bought exclusive rights to the Dead Sea area. The mud is also said to be therapeutic, so don't be surprised to see many swimmers covered with mud.  Unlike some of the other beaches, you will not find much partying or nightlife here. Instead, this beach is looked upon as a place to relax and find healing for both body and soul. There is also a cafe for your convenience and showers at the Ein Gedi Beach.

Netanya, the capital of the Sharon district, is very close to the sandy shores of the Mediterranean Sea.  A huge tourist area, Netanya has developed into a city of leisure and enjoyment, offering many restaurants, both national and international entertainment and easy access to tourist sites from all over the country.  The new beach elevator in Netanya has attracted much attention, taking people to and from the city to the beaches and back again.  Hotels in Netanya are numerous, giving vacationers many options of where to stay while visiting this exciting beach area.

Near Eilat, you be in the southern part of the country, facing towards the Red Sea.One of the world’s best diving spots, the Coral Beach Nature Reserve can be found here.  For those who like to engage in snorkeling or scuba diving, this is the place you will enjoy the most.  The fish and coral formations are amazing and the equipment is available for rent. Also available for your convenience are showers and changing areas.

Near this same area is the Dolphin Reef Beach, which is an excellent location for everyday swimming in the Red Sea.  You will find the dolphins swimming and playing in the waters here, close to the swimming area.  A beautiful spot, you will also find a café and bar at this location.

Located in the central part of Israel, also near the Mediterranean Sea, is the city of Herzliya. In this area of the country are some of Israel’s finest beaches.  Known for its industry and high-technology, this large city has an exciting life night, both in the city and on the beaches.  At this wealthy and busy community, you will find Herzliya hotels to be of the finest quality.

The Ein Gev Resrot Village Beach is along the Sea of Galilee. One of the most beautiful beaches on the lake, you must be a guest at the resort in order to enjoy this beach.  The Sea of Galilee is a freshwater sea, and the water here is warm and refreshing.  Many people feel both physical and spiritual strength and healing from swimming here.

The Gordon Beach in Tel Aviv is located along the Mediterranean Sea and is a free municipal beach.  You will find a mix of all nationalities of all social statuses at this simple and clean beach.  You will also find showers and places to grab a snack or meal.  This is a great place to go when you are first arriving and not sure of your plans.  It’s free, has a friendly atmosphere to all tourists, and is near many of the nicer Israel hotels.

Just north of Caesarea is the Aqueduct Beach, a nice romantic and also historic beach.  Built over 2,000 years ago by the Romans, this ancient aqueduct has lots of atmosphere. The ruins here create an atmosphere of relaxation and romance that is especially nice on calm, uncrowded days.

These are only a few of the many popular beach spots in Israel. Many of Israel’s beaches are known for their nightlife and socializing while others are more family-oriented and relaxing.  Regardless of which ones you choose to visit, there is no doubt that you will be impressed by the beauty of Israel’s beautiful beaches.
