There may be many different reasons as to why he asked. Think of the time when your relationship ended. If the circumstances were really hostile and he treated you like crap turn your cheek and walk away, no-one deserves to be treated badly only to be called back again at a guys will. He may be trying to control you if he treats you bad one minute and worships you the next.
On the other hand, if the break up was hard for both of you and it upset both of you he may be thinking of rekindling the relationship. If that is the case then you need to think if that is what you want.
Paris is also a long way to go for just a booty call!
But remember to think about what you want and if you're really confused ask him what he wants!
