    Prague is more scenic and tourist friendly from my experience. Budapest is great in the sense that they love Americans.

    PRAGUE no doubt is the Best. Gothic architecture, scenic parks and nice people...Lots to see around. Must GO

    Neither is the best as there's only two of them.
    Each is better than the other is some ways.

    I've been to both and Prague wins hands down. Budapest is a beautiful city but there wasn't that much to do, whereas Prague has loads to do.

    They love Americans because they tip more, when my mother went over she was tipping 70 cents and the waitress was extremly grateful.

    Budapest is a bit more unknown, less touristy its true, but it has beautiful architecture due to his crazy history.

    But wasn't their riots on in Budapest a few weeks ago... something about the Prime Minister lying about the budget... Hungarians are known for their temper... Prague might just be more politically stable.

    I agree with the above, Prague is more aesthetically pleasing. But Budapest is fascinating too - Buda on one side of the river, Pest on the other - and the river cruise is wonderful. Why not do one now, then the other at another time?

    PS If you love architecture you'll love Budapest zoo, but if you love animals, you will **** it. You've been warned!

    I haven't been to Budapest yet, but I think Prague is one of thw orld's greatest cities. I just got back from my 6th trip to Prague and I had an amazing time - as always. I always find something new to see or do. The people are reasonably friendly. It is absolutely, stunningly beautiful. It's like Paris except much cleaner, more compact, friendly, and doesn't smell like urine.

    I loved Prague...so much to do and see. Fantastic city.
    I loved Budapest...a lot to do and see, and not quite as over-run with tourists. Had fun times trying to communicate with the locals who didn't speak any English.

    Either of them would be great for a city break. Do one this time and the other next time! Flip a coin...heads for Prague, tails for Budapest :)
    If I had the opportunity, I would go back to Budapest before going back to Prague.

    Depends what you preffer.
    Beer=Prague
    Vine=Budapest
    Additionally you can probably find more cultural events in Prague. Well why not check a good guide:

    Both are lovely places, but have to say that Prague is better. Budapest is extremely expensive, and they love to rip off tourists. For example, I wanted a patch for my pack, and they were selling them for the equivalent of $25AUD, whereas in other cities in Europe you could get them for $2-5AUD
